At this time there are three reported Wyoming cases.
The Wyoming Department of Health is closely monitoring the current coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak situation and sharing recommendations.
We don’t yet know exactly how easily COVID-19 spreads and how many people will experience severe illness. While we are facing a rapidly developing situation, the risk to most Wyoming residents remains low at this time.
The symptoms reported with this disease are familiar to all of us: fever, cough and shortness of breath.
Travel Information
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends avoiding all nonessential travel to China, Iran, most of Europe, the United Kingdom and Ireland and South Korea. CDC also says older adults and those with chronic medical conditions should avoid nonessential travel. CDC also recommends avoiding all cruise ship travel.
Priority Actions
- Stay home when sick and avoid contact with other people unless you need medical attention.
- Follow advice from CDC on what to do if you think you may be sick.
- Follow common-sense steps such as washing your hands often and well; covering your coughs and sneezes; and cleaning and disinfecting.
- Nursing homes and other healthcare facilities should closely follow guidelines for infection control and prevention.
- As much as possible, assisted living facilities should follow the same infection control and prevention practices as nursing homes.
- Everyone should follow CDC recommendations on mass gatherings.
- Older people and those with health conditions that mean they have a higher chance of getting seriously ill should avoid crowds or close-contact situations.
